Los objetivos de esta investigación son verificar la idoneidad de los catálogos online para satisfacer las necesidades de información de docentes y discentes en el área de Biblioteconomía y Documentación mediante la evaluación de una muestra de 23 bibliotecas digitales universitarias; y plantear las mejoras necesarias. Los resultados constatan la idoneidad de los catálogos online para solventar las necesidades informativas de profesores, investigadores y alumnos, siendo las bibliotecas de las Universidades de Barcelona, Granada y Sevilla las más relevantes en el área de Documentación; así como la profesionalidad del bibliotecario para atender las necesidades de los usuarios. Entre otras mejoras, se plantean la formación del profesorado y del alumnado en el uso de los recursos electrónicos; y la creación de ayudas en línea para perfeccionar las interfaces usuario-web con la finalidad de recuperar la información de forma rápida y eficaz.Item Los repositorios digitales en el ámbito universitario(2007) López Guzmán, Clara; García Peñalvo, Francisco J.Los modelos de educación en línea y la prolífera producción de los docentes y los investigadores han sobrepasado las funciones que las bibliotecas digitales pueden proveer para la organización y el almacenamiento de los contenidos digitales. Esto a dado paso al uso de los repositorios digitales como las herramientas ad-hoc para la gestión de contenidos que se integren más fácilmente con diversos usos y aplicaciones.
